Knee Deep

Presented by Brisbane Festival

In a breathtaking and vulnerable display of grace and physical power, Brisbane-born contemporary circus troupe Casus return home to Brisbane with their exquisite piece, Knee Deep.

Performed to sold out audiences around the world this elegant acrobatic show, set to a haunting soundtrack will leave you breathless.

Known for
Through bold, quirky and captivating performance the four members of Casus (Emma Serjeant, Jesse Scott, Natano Fa’anana and Lachaln McAulay) bring a wealth of knowledge and experience into this innovative work, having previously performed extensively in Australia and around the world with C!RCA, Legs on the Wall, Polytoxic, and Briefs Collective.

There is a wonderful childlike innocence about Knee Deep in the theme of discovery as the group tests the bounds of the strengths and weaknesses in themselves and objects. The snippets of narrative that permeate the performance make every movement more meaningful. This is a show that combines professionalism with a sense of fun, and turns a series of tricks into a work of art.

The bizarrely named Knee Deep is a spectacular display of human strength and acrobatics.

Ed Fest Mag

THE Casus performers' breathtaking contortions and gravity-defying stunts should land them knee-deep in trouble. I was ready to call for an ambulance at some points, but they pull the moves off with style. Casus explores semiotics as they perform a series of acrobatic stunts using traditional and contemporary circus techniques.
