The Sunday Assembly Brisbane Launch

Friday 22 November, 2013

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse and Sunday Assembly Brisbane

The international Sunday Assembly Roadshow is coming to town! Join UK comedian Sanderson Jones as he launches Sunday Assembly Brisbane.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation that meets to hear great talks, sing songs and celebrate the wonder of life. Eight months after launching in London, it’s become an international phenomenon, with satellite assemblies launching in twenty cities around the world.

Come along to the Brisbane launch and hear founder/comedian Sanderson Jones speak about his passion for celebrating life. Experience the joy of belting out a feel-good song within the safety of a crowd, and have a cuppa afterwards while getting to know other people in your community who want to live better, help often and wonder more.

Register on Eventbrite.

Inspired by
The Sunday Assembly London that now meets once a month with a regular turn-out of 600 people.
Known for
The Sunday Assembly is known for its unashamed copying of the things that are good about going to church – the inspirational talk about big ideas and questions about how to live better, help often and wonder more; the group singing; and the tea and cake afterwards – all without the ‘God’ bit.

Reviews

It's naive to deny that there's a lot of good that comes out of organised religion, and I think helping in the community is another thing that Sunday Assemblies should be aspiring to unashamedly copy.
