What Rhymes With Cars and Girls

by Aidan Fennessy, music and lyrics by Tim Rogers

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse: A Melbourne Theatre Company production

You Am I frontman, Tim Rogers’ iconic album, What Rhymes With Cars & Girls is brought to life in this feel-good musical love story.

Performed with a live band led by Rogers, What Rhymes with Cars and Girls is an intimate musical jewel that sees two lovers brought together by a conjunction of the stars and a pizza delivery gone weird.

It’s a raw and complex urban romance – a balm for the hardest of hearts, and solace for anyone who has ever been in love. Playwright Aidan Fennessy has threaded these beautiful songs across the class divide to create a stunning new tale of contemporary love in Australia.

A total delight.

Time Out

...as polished and refined a premiere of a new musical play as you are likely to encounter

The Australian

...breathes new life into tired boy-meets-girl clichés. Packs a considerable emotional punch.

A troubadour from the tip of his felt-brimmed hat to the idiosyncratic chop of his right hand.

Tim Rogers is a statesman of Australian music.
