Topology and Tara Simmons

Pop meets post classical when Triple J charting singer songwriter Tara Simmons joins Topology in a gorgeous blend of vocals, strings, sax and piano.

Having supported the likes of The Living End and Eskimo Joe, Tara Simmons is fast-becoming one of the hottest singer songwriters on the indie music scene. She was nominated for the Q Music Awards in both 2006 and 2007 and selected as a Triple J Next Crop Artist in 2006.

In this intensely intimate performance Tara Simmons sings her newly commissioned song cycle with Topology, combining vocal melodies and her laptop’s folktronica/glitch electronic textures with the colours of Topology’s instrumentals.

Topology will also present a bouquet of new pieces equally inspired by contemporary classical music, jazz and alternative pop.
