Compassion in Exile

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse and Tenzin Choegyal

Compassion in Exile is an intimate portrait of Tenzin Gyatso, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.

Directed by Mickey Lemle and with music by Philip Glass, this stunning film documents the life story of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and his unwavering efforts to bring attention to the plight of his people. To the Tibetan people, His Holiness is the embodiment of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion and his life story is testament to this ideal.

Described by The New Times as, “alive filmmaking…intensely moving”, this film is a great way to acknowledge the 80th year of Tenzin Gyatso’s birth.
