Queensland College of Art Students

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse, Griffith University and Queensland College of Art

Brisbane Powerhouse is proud to present FLOAT an exclusive slide presentation open to the public.

Float presents the work of fourteen Queensland College of Art students on the Turbine Platform on Wednesday 14 Oct from 6pm–8pm.

This one night only show is a response to an art and sound infield course on Stradbroke Island. Students from the College of Art and the Queensland Conservatorium spent an intensive five days there immersed in the culture, and natural environment.

The students were introduced to the island through a talk with an environmental scientist and several cultural talks associated with the Quandamooka Festival that opened the same weekend. Projection experiments made on the island were developed for this showing at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Join us for an evening of eye-opening student works, celebrating Queensland’s finest landscapes.
