Poetry Is Dead

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse, Josh Donellan & Mike Willmett

Poetry becomes electric in this unique show that takes traditional spoken word and turns it into a clever and compelling audiovisual assault.

Multi-award winning Brisbane poet and author JM Donellan combines forces with acclaimed sound and audio-visual artist Mike Wilmett to create a show that highlights the best of contemporary poetry and storytelling. Embedded with elements of hip hop, stand up, electronica, video and sound art, the duo have performed at festivals around Australia and are not to be missed.

Reviews

This is a writer with a deft handle on his craft.

Books + Publishing Donellan’s Killing Adonis

Contemporary, relatable and yet transcendent with the interweaving of poetry and science, past and present.

The Westender .M. Donellan’s We Are All Ghosts

Mike Willmett’s sound design is a beautiful cacophony of sound and music…he mixes this live every night amid the chaos on stage, playing off the action like a pianist would the old silent movies.
