Soldier’s Wife

Presented by Sugarrush Music in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

Over the past three years a small group of Queensland songwriters have travelled across the state talking with wives whose partners have served in military conflict over the past 60 years.

These deeply personal stories have been turned into songs and performed across the country, including sell out performances at the Sydney Opera House.

These are the true stories of some remarkable women who have in their own way shaped our nation – told by a group of remarkable songwriters.

The artists involved represent a mix of vast songwriting experience and emerging talent, including Australian Music Prize nominee and vocal powerhouse Jackie Marshall, Roz Pappalardo (best know as one half of Women in Docs), all round entertainer and fast rising new talent Emma Bosworth, Deb Suckling (Lucy Star Satellite) and Kristy Apps.
