Regurgitator’s Ben Ely will transport audiences back to his youth with his new album Strange Tales of Drugs and Lost Love.
Most commonly known for his work with the band Regurgitator, over the last few years Ely has spent a large amount of time writing and recording solo works. Having spent sixteen years away, Ely returned to his hometown of Brisbane in early 2016, which brought back nostalgic recollections and feelings of his youth, and inspired his most recent work.
Flashbacks of stage diving for the first time at Saint Paul’s Tavern in Spring Hill; his first girlfriend getting possessed by the Devil out at Capalaba; getting into car chases with violent bouncers in Red Hill, and many other bizarre events that now seem like an entire lifetime away. These stories have subconsciously made their way into his latest work, which make up his new album Strange Tales of Drugs and Lost Love.
Ely will perform his new album in its entirety, including a few songs from his previous album Goodbye Machine, as well as some Regurgitator classics with special guest artists.
Ben will be supported by McKisko on the evening.
