Festival of Tibet: Workshops

Presented by Tenzin Choegyal in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

Festival of Tibet is the perfect opportunity to experience Tibetan culture and to renew mind, body and spirit through workshops and ideas. 

The Festival of Tibet will explore themes of compassion, conflict, occupation, love, peace, migration, environmental justice and human rights.

Tibetan Painting Workshop with Master Karma Phuntsok

Learn some simple techniques used in traditional Tibetan drawing and painting. The art of Karma Phuntsok is a unique and dynamic expression of contemporary Buddhist art.

The startling beauty and richness which graces this acclaimed artist’s work is influenced by his diverse life experiences. Be sure to explore an exhibition of his works in the Mosquito Foyer during the Festival of Tibet.

Chakra Healing Through Aromatherapy

Learn about the chakras and how, when used with aromatherapy, they become one of the most dynamic tools for personal and spiritual growth. Qualified aromatherapist, author of The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy, Perfect Potion founder and Managing Director Sal Battaglia will lead this educational workshop.

I Heart Momo: Tibetan Cooking Workshop SOLD OUT

Learn the art of making the perfect Tibetan dumpling. Momo master and West End Market favourite Wanday will share his secrets with you at this delicious workshop for all ages. Momos are Tibetan dumplings, traditionally made to celebrate special dates in the Tibetan calendar.  Wanday will demonstrate how it’s done and then there’s plenty of time for hands on, practical learning.  The result will be a plate full of delicious momos and a new dish to add to your kitchen repertoire. All ingredients provided.

Is parking available?
There is limited free-of-charge, all-day, on-site car parking at Brisbane Powerhouse. If you are travelling by car, please arrive early to secure a park. Additional free parking is available in New Farm Park accessible via our link road, which is opened after 5pm every day.

What time should I arrive?
It's best to arrive at least 30-40 minutes before the show start time to find a car park, pick up your tickets at box office and make your way to the venue. The doors of the venue will open approximately 10-15 minutes prior to show time.

Where do I pick up my tickets?
Tickets will be available for pick up from Box Office 60 minutes prior to show time.

Is there food and drink available

Brisbane Powerhouse has two on-site restaurants; Bar Alto and Watt Restaurant + Bar. More information can be found on our Eat + Drink page.
