The Sound of a Finished Kiss

by Kate Wild, featuring the songs of The Go-Betweens

Presented by Now Look Here and Electric Moon in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

The story of a generation and the city that shaped it – told through the songs of The Go-Betweens.

When an old mixed tape is unearthed, four friends rewind to Brisbane in the 1990s. Through a series of monologues interwoven with the songs they loved, they relive the events which shattered friendships and scattered friends to the four corners of the world.

The Sound of a Finished Kiss is a new Australian musical celebrating the internationally-renowned song-writing talents of Robert Forster and Grant McLennan along with their evocation of Brisbane’s unique subculture in the final decades of the twentieth century.

An exciting collaboration between acclaimed Brisbane companies Now Look Here (Splendour, The Seagull) and Electric Moon (Ziggy Stardust, In The Warm Room), The Sound of a Finished Kiss features Sandro Colarelli (Twelfth Night, Lady of the House of Love, Ziggy), Kat Henry (Deliverance, Woyzeck), Lucinda Shaw (Transformer, Silver Sircus) and Lucas Stibbard (Constellations, Boy Girl Wall).

The Sound of a Finished Kiss is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and also by the Creative Sparks Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council to support local arts and culture in Brisbane.

Auslan supported performance on Thu 14 June.
