Presented by ImproMafia and Corporation Theatre in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

Back after their successful run of Hooking Up at last year’s MELT Festival, join Brisbane’s best queer improvisers for their new show, Trade.

Trade is a one night stand. It’s the buying and selling of goods. Trade is the exchange of items and ideas and bodily fluids. Trade is all around us. We trade safety for adventure and thrills for comfort. But do we win all of our trades?

The performers weave truth with fiction, songs and drama, puppets and flesh in a comedic exploration of what queer life is like in Brisbane in 2019. Each show is different, inspired by the audience and can live for one night only…

So come, trade your stories with us.

Far funnier and more coherent than it had any right to be…if it weren't sold out, I'd be tempted to go again.

Hilarious from start to finish...ImproMafia have once again shown that they know their stuff and can strut it with ease on stage.

Each of the scenes flow incredibly well, filled with hilarious dialogue, but without ever forgetting the story...a hilarious show.

About ImproMafia:

ImproMafia is Brisbane's longest established improvised comedy group. We've been using our quick wits and sharp tongues to make Queenslanders laugh for over a decade! From high-energy Theatresports™-style shortform to cheeky adults-only parodies, full-length musicals and more, there's nothing we can't make up from your suggestions.

ImproMafia's uniquely theatrical approach to improvised comedy has won us dedicated followers around the world. We've brought down the house at the NYC Improv Fest, the Manilla Improv Festival and the Beijing Improv Comedy Festival. We're staples at the Brisbane Comedy Festival, and our long-running training program enjoys a reputation as Brisbane's best.

Corporation is a recently formed theatre company based in improvised works led by some of Australia's most experienced and respected improvisors. Trade is their first production.
