Brisbane City Council showcases our city’s best new contemporary musical talent thanks to The QUBE Effect.

This unique contemporary youth music program shines a spotlight on emerging Brisbane musicians, and mentors them through a unique nine-month program led by industry experts.

The QUBE Effect Awards will celebrate twenty-four finalists including soloists, duos and bands and award competition prizes, including the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concert Award, Telstra Innovation Award, People’s Choice Award, JMC Best Original Song Award and QPAC Green Jam Award.

The QUBE Effect is a music program that provides live performance and promotional and development opportunities for emerging and professional Brisbane musicians.

Twenty-four musical groups, including soloists, duos and bands, have been shortlisted by an industry panel and will be provided the opportunity to nurture their talent as musicians over a six-month program. The program includes video clip filming, industry networking, live performances, management workshops, prizes and more.

The QUBE Effect live performances were held on 7 and 14 April as part of Youth Week 2018. Council is committed to creating new lifestyle and leisure opportunities, helping to deliver more than 50,000 exciting events, festivals and markets each year and building better facilities and venues for all ages to enjoy.

Is parking available?
There is limited free-of-charge, all-day, on-site car parking at Brisbane Powerhouse. If you are travelling by car, please arrive early to secure a park. Additional free parking is available in New Farm Park accessible via our link road, which is opened after 5pm on performance days.

What time should I arrive?
It's best to arrive at least 30-40 minutes before the show start time to find a car park, pick up your tickets at box office and make your way to the venue. The doors of the venue will open approximately 10-15 minutes prior to show time.

Where do I pick up my tickets?
Tickets will be available for pick up from Box Office 60 minutes prior to show time.
