Now entering its eleventh year, the biggest ten minute play festival in the world takes centre stage again at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Here’s your opportunity to witness brand new home-grown independent performances. Short+Sweet offers short sharp bursts of ten minute theatre and cabaret, presenting dozens of new works – each unique and packing a punch.

A festival like no other! Short+Sweet offers daring drama, laugh-out-loud comedy, charismatic cabaret, contemporary performance and perhaps even some bold burlesque – all ten minutes and under.

The Gala Finals presents the best of the best of this year’s festival.

Now celebrating its eighteenth year worldwide, Short+Sweet is the biggest festival of 10-minute works. Held annually over a dozen locations around the world, Short+Sweet has helped launch the careers of countless theatre professionals. Over 300 short plays are produced by Short+Sweet every year – bringing together artists from a variety of background and making global creative connections.

Short+Sweet is a global festival brand, presenting highly successful Theatre, Cabaret, Dance and Song Festivals around the world. We provide audiences with exciting and contemporary works that challenge and entertain. Our mission is to build theatre-going audiences around the world.

Beginning as a small festival of 10-minute plays in Sydney, the festival have grown into a global organisation. Short+Sweet has made a huge impact on the Australian theatre scene through developing new, original work with emerging artists and providing a platform for established artists to showcase their talents.

How do I get to Brisbane Powerhouse?

Is parking available?
There is limited free-of-charge, all-day, on-site car parking at Brisbane Powerhouse. If you are travelling by car, please arrive early to secure a park. Additional free parking is available in New Farm Park accessible via our link road, which is opened after 5pm on performance days.

What time should I arrive?
It's best to arrive at least 30-40 minutes before the show start time to find a car park, pick up your tickets at box office and make your way to the venue. The doors of the venue will open approximately 10-15 minutes prior to show time.

Where do I pick up my tickets?
Tickets will be available for pick up from Box Office 60 minutes prior to show time.
