Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen

Dyna-Mite World Tour

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse

New Orlean’s music legend Jon Cleary and his band, The Absolute Monster Gentlemen bring the sultry, seductive and uber-funky sounds of the American south to Brisbane Powerhouse for one night only as part of their massive Dyna-Mite World Tour.

After another incredible turn at the famed New Orleans Jazz Fest in April, fans in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia will have the chance to experience an incredible night of music as Cleary and his crew perform tracks from Dyna-mite as well as some all time favourites.

Cleary is a Grammy award winning artist who has toured globally and graced stages, shared rooms and gained respect from everyone from Allen Toussaint to Tom Jones, Dr. John to Bonnie Raitt, Fats Domino to Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal to BB King, even Brian May to D’Angelo.

Jon Cleary embodies the sound of New Orleans. Bolstered by the presence of his long time band, this concert will be a highlight on the 2019 events calendar. Don’t miss out!

...The long-overdue Frith Street debut by Jon Cleary, the US-based singer-pianist and Professor Longhair devotee, more than lived up to expectations.

The Times

Cleary can be an absolute monster on his own, but Cleary’s full combo R&B is as broad, deep and roiling as the Mississippi River, the combined swinging product of local keyboard tradition, Cleary’s vocal-songwriting flair for moody Seventies soul and the spunky-Meters roll of his Gentlemen

David Fricke, Rolling Stone

[Dyna-Mite] is so, so strong. Uber-soulful, uber-funky and a slew of songs that other artists are sure to cover in the coming years. Jon’s vocals are spine tinglingly good
