Circus

Statum

Presented by Flipside Circus with Counterpilot in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

A brand-new physical performance by the award-winning Flipside Circus and Counterpilot.

We produce around 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day. Our lives are uploaded and recorded; big data is only getting bigger.

Inspired by a series of techno-circus experiments, Statum explores the interplay between human bodies and technology – fusing live biometric data and acrobatic virtuosity to create a new kind of circus spectacle.

Audiences are invited to experience circus from a completely new angle. Inhabit performer’s bodies, muscle tension, heart rate, step count… insides are on display as beauty and geekiness meet.

This project has been supported by The Bridge, an initiative of Brisbane Powerhouse and Brisbane City Council.

Development supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
