Comedy

Die Hard: The Movie, The Play

Presented by Act/React in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

It’s Christmas Eve and all New York cop John McClane wants to do is patch things up with his high-powered corporate wife, Holly. Little do they know smooth-talking Hans Gruber and his cabal of Eurotrash terrorists are on their way to hijack celebrations at LA’s Nakatomi Plaza.

With only a gun, a white singlet and the Dad from TV sitcom Family Matters, John McClane must use his wits to survive (and deliver some pithy one-liners).

Full of bare-footed action, danger and their trademark low-fi special effects, this new comedy from the team that brought you Speed: The Movie, The Play and Titanic: The Movie, The Play will have you screaming “yippee-ki-yay“.

Reviews

This hour-long show is rollicking good fun, cleverly conceived and wonderfully enacted.

The West Australian

Taking part in this play feels like being a kid in a toy store…the most enjoyable hour of theatre you’ll ever have the privilege of being kidnapped into.

The Creative Issue

A fun romp through a pop culture classic.
