ABOUT THE SHOW

Australian jazz trio, Elixir, have well and truly established themselves as a creative favorite on the Australian music scene. They combine the unmistakable operatic vocals of Katie Noonan with the sax stylings of husband Zac Hurren and the standout guitar of Benjamin Hauptmann. Elixir brings a special, intimate live performance of their latest album, A Small Shy Truth to Brisbane for one night only.

Based on the poetry of Melbourne born national living treasure, Michael Leunig, the album features collaborations and arrangements with some of Australia’s finest composers – Iain Grandage, Joe Chindamo and Steve Newcomb.

Special guest Michael Leunig will be onstage with the band.  They’ll also be joined by legendary double bassist Jonathan Zwartz and a luscious string quartet.

The contemporary jazz sounds of the wonderful Charm of Finches will be on stage beforehand to get the audience warmed up.
