ABOUT THE ARTIST
HAYLEY CAMPBELL
ALL THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
Author and journalist Hayley Campbell explores the nitty-gritty details of death nobody wants to talk about in her book All the Living and the Dead. Fuelled by a childhood fascination with death, Hayley explores its impact on those who work with it every day. Her personal investigation into the death trade led her to grave diggers, embalmers, mass fatality investigators, and a former executioner, responsible for ending 62 lives.
POLLY BARTON
PORNCHAT
For writer and literary translator Polly Barton, porn was a source of nebulous, worry and discomfort. It was exactly this silence and discomfort that inspired her to spend a year initiating intimate conversations with 19 acquaintances about everything related to porn. These conversations, documented in her second book Porn: An Oral History, revolve around interpersonal dynamics – shame, embarrassment, jealousy and ethics.
