Gear up for a wild ride as Stunt Double invites you inside the filming of a 1970s Ozploitation flick. Get up close and personal with the actors and their extraordinary stunt doubles as they cycle through take after take of high-octane stunts right before your very eyes.
Stunt Double is a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek dive into the complex and absurd power dynamics of the film industry, into exploitation as a bloodsport, the human cost of celebrity, and our quest to come out on top.
Select members of the audience will experience this first hand as they are given roles to fulfil, working as extras, gaffers, clappers, art department and more.
Inspired by iconic Aussie films, Stunt Double is a genre-bending home-grown blockbuster brought to you by The Farm, produced by Performing Lines. Get ready to uncover the dark side of fame and the price it exacts.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sometimes brash, always bold and insightful, The Farm’s contemporary performances shows a unique ability to connect with anyone, from dance aficionados to theatre virgins, and has been described as the ‘gateway drug to contemporary performance’. Our company is built on a choreographic legacy that spans 20 years.
In the last 6 years, based on the Gold Coast, we have been pushing the boundaries of contemporary performance by challenging preconceptions of what it is and where it can be viewed.
From a drive-in B grade horror performance in a Showgrounds, to a 48 hour durational improvisation on a sandbar, we have proven ourselves to be bold re-imaginers of the ways contemporary performance can affect the lives of everyday people.
