Brisbane’s annual Festival of Tibet is an event to remember. Offering something for everyone, there’s discussion, art, music, intrigue and philosophy on show.
A highlight includes the Mystical Tibet performance on the evening of Friday 26 April bringing together former Australian Greens leader and environmental activist Bob Brown in conversation with radio presenter, writer and journalist, Paul Barclay. Following their conversation, the superb Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra will perform in collaboration with renowned Tibetan musician, Tenzin Choegyal.
On Saturday evening, the 1,000 Stories concert sees the exquisite artwork of Karma Phuntsok blended with music from Tibet2Timbuk2.
Plus there’s workshops in chakra healing, momo making and traditional Tibetan art, and a myriad of free activities including yoga sessions, prayer flag painting for children, public talks and witnessing the creation of a traditional sand mandala during the period of the Festival.
