DPS Academy
In 2022, Dead Puppet Society and Brisbane Powerhouse will offer Brisbane artists the opportunity to propose an idea for creative development under the guidance of Dead Puppet Society artists.
DPS Academy is our flagship artist training program and an incubator for new design-led performance work. Presented in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse, DPS Academy invites artists of all disciplines to participate in a 14-part masterclass series exploring and putting into practice Dead Puppet Society’s creative methodologies. Academy artists will then undertake creative development of their own original performance concepts, under the mentorship of Dead Puppet Society.
The program culminates in a showcase evening known as THE DPS LAB. With technical resources of the Powerhouse Theatre at their disposal, Academy artists will present a 20-minute demonstration of their original performance concept for an audience including the general public, industry guests and DPS Academy alumni.
