The Wicked Messenger is the modern-folk project of Jimi Beavis (The Holy Rollercoasters) and Janey Mac (The Good Ship, Doch, Tylea). Together, they sing about the big things – topics of love, death and change in their quiet, contemplative style. Jimi’s songwriting taps into lyrical traditions stretching from Bob Dylan to Gillian Welch and Bill Callahan while Janey brings double bass and rich vocal harmonies. Their debut album Bellbird Grove will be released in 2021.
Sabrina Lawrie is an Australian singer/songwriter and producer based in Brisbane, Queensland. Her 2017 album Hush The Mountain received critical acclaim, including a 4.5 star review in Rolling Stone, and saw her touring nationally with her band. Sabrina’s music has been described as ‘spirit’ rock, often crossing genres with each song guided by the emotion and energy of the lyrics, yet with her firm rock roots grounding the sound with guitars.
ARIA award-winning Tyrone Noonan began a multi- faceted solo career following 10 years with george, a Brisbane band he fronted with his sister, Katie Noonan. george released eight EPs, two albums and an award- winning DVD during its career. Since then, Tyrone has released several singles, two albums and enjoyed stints based in London and New York.
