Nick Earls is the author of twenty-eight books, including the best-selling novels Zigzag Street, Bachelor Kisses and Perfect Skin, and the award-winning novella series Wisdom Tree.

Meditative in its study of human life, his latest book Empires is a poignant look at the connections we make, the connections we miss and the many ways that we need to be mindful of this planet we share.

Spanning centuries and crossing continents, Empires is an exploration of the narratives society constructs and the interconnectedness of all things.

Go inside this masterful novel from Brisbane’s much-loved author, in conversation with ABC Radio‘s Katherine Feeney, and with a special opening performance from cellist Danielle Bentley, as part of Writers+Ideas at Brisbane Powerhouse.
