Crowd Favourites Added to Night Feast Line-up

Brisbane Powerhouse will become the city’s latest foodie mecca next month with the inaugural Night Feast: a riverside art and feasting experience taking over the Brisbane Powerhouse precinct from 1 – 26 March.
Set within a temporary village of Queensland fretwork, Cantonese lacquer and luminous neon, a selection of the city’s top chefs will assemble for the month-long culinary celebration.
Conceived by Brisbane Powerhouse CEO/Artistic Director Kate Gould and curated by restaurant critic Lizzie Loel and Brisbane Powerhouse Arts Program Director Brad Spolding, with site design by Bruce McKinven (Dark Mofo), Night Feast will feature a variety of gourmet kitchens alongside a free program of site-specific art.
“Night Feast gives visitors an opportunity to sample the best of Brisbane’s gourmet food scene within an immersive, outdoor neon-noir environment,” Loel said.
“Our hand-picked chefs have been invited to showcase their signature dishes only, meaning you can experience the city’s most exclusive gastronomic delights in one location.”
Amongst the line-up of gourmet greats is hatted chef Philip Johnson (e’cco Bistro), Lyndon Tyers (Donna Chang), winemaker Dave Cush (City Winery), Tuan Nguyen (NGON), Lek Senee (Lek’s Thai) and Patricio Sarno (Mary Mae’s Kitchen & Bar).
Newly announced crowd favourite names also include Adam Wolfers (Gerard’s Bistro), Jerome Dalton (Dalton Catering), Cameron Maiden (Bugster’s by Wine & Dine’m Catering) and Q Park (Uncle Don’s).
The Night Feast indulgence continues with a complementary art program that includes immersive installations, roaming performances, DJ sets and live music from visual and performance artists.
Spearheading the spectacle is world-leading installation artist Amanda Parer of Parer Studio, Swiss site-performance designer and fog artist Tom Mùller, and internationally renowned Australian audio-visual artist Robin Fox.
Brisbane Powerhouse CEO/Artistic Director Kate Gould said the mesmerising site and immersive installations, roaming performances and DJ sets would “surprise and delight the senses”.
“Melding fine food and contemporary art within a dreamlike setting, this delicious new event epitomises Brisbane Powerhouse’s renewed vision for immersive cultural experiences,” Gould said.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Night Feast was part of “an exciting transformation” of the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse.
“Our city has a growing reputation as Australia’s lifestyle capital thanks to our incredible climate and fantastic range of destinations and venues,” Cr Schrinner said.
“We are proud to be supporting Night Feast because events like this help make Brisbane even better.
“Many of Brisbane’s best chefs will be rolling up their sleeves to showcase their signature dishes during Night Feast with a great range of delicious dishes on offer that suit all tastes and budgets.
The inaugural Night Feast will take place 1 – 26 March and will be open Wednesday – Sunday 4.30pm – 9.30pm.
