Located on Yagara Country, Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland’s home of contemporary culture and art.
A magnificent 1920s power station reborn as an arts centre, each year it presents over 1,250 performances that engage over 1,200 artists.
Brisbane Powerhouse is in a time of growth. But, with growth come risks and challenges. Having the support of our benefactors gives us the confidence and resources to try things never achieved in this city. This means engaging with artists, emerging and established, and delivering extraordinary arts experiences to our community.
JOIN OUR HISTORY
Brisbane Powerhouse has and always will be more than a venue – we are a leader of contemporary art creating opportunities that are artist led. The journey so far has led us to new performance venues, art spaces, festivals that highlight the corners of music genres, and feasts that turn food into art.
With the support of our partners and benefactors, in the past year we’ve achieved:
- 1.1 MILLION ATTENDANCES
- ENGAGED 1,500+ ARTISTS
- 2 NEW FESTIVALS | Night Feast & ΩHM
- THE FAIRFAX STUDIO | A new gallery of free public art
- PLEASUREDOME | A new performance and community venue
- POWERHOUSE STORE | A new store of creators and makers
- FLEX | A new accessibility program for the deaf community
All this results in a vibrant industry supporting artists and transforming the contemporary arts landscape of Brisbane, Queensland and beyond.
