ABOUT THE SHOW

Following a bloody battle, Macbeth and his comrade Banquo are met by three Weird Sisters who prophesy Macbeth will one day be king.

Unable to shake the thought, Macbeth tells his wife, Lady Macbeth. Driven by an insatiable hunger for power, posterity and certainty, they commit a murder and set in motion the unravelling of their sanity. With blood on their hands, they face the dire consequences of their despicable actions.

A terrifying portrayal of moral collapse, Peter Evans’ Macbeth, with Anthony Taufa in the title role, will take you on an intense journey into the dark heart of humanity.

White text on a black background reads BELL SHAKESPEARE, with SHAKESPEARE written upside down and reversed, while BELL is upright and normally oriented, evoking the bold creativity of Bell Shakespeares Romeo & Juliet - Brisbane Powerhouse 2025.
White lotus flower icon above bold NSW and smaller GOVERNMENT text on black background. This image, representing the New South Wales Government logo, relates to events like Josephine Wants to Dance - Brisbane Powerhouse 2025.
Australian Government coat of arms on the left; on the right, the words Creative Australia in bold black text inside a white, rounded geometric shape, all on a black background—promoting Josephine Wants to Dance - Brisbane Powerhouse 2025.
