ABOUT THE SHOW

Looking for Australia’s next teen comedy sensation!

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national competition and workshop program is back, ready to uncover the next generation of comedic talent!

Class Clowns is here to inspire, connect and elevate teens aged 14-18 with a knack for comedy. Happening in Term 1 of the school year, this free and fun competition offers a unique opportunity to shine.

All it takes is 3-5 minutes of original material in any genre — whether it’s stand-up, sketch, solo, group, musical or physical comedy – the possibilities are endless! Each competition heat includes a FREE 2-hour workshop where participants will fine-tune their performances with the guidance of a professional comedian before taking to the stage.

The funniest acts will earn a trip to Melbourne to compete in the National Grand Final as part of the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival! The Grand Final winner will walk away with a $1,500 cash prize, as well as a workshop package for their school.

Whether you know a naturally funny teenager or have one in your care, don’t let this opportunity pass by! Participation is FREE.
