Enter a new holographic world in an epic feat of audio-visual art and technology at Double Vision, as part of ISEA 2024 EVERYWHEN. The final night of Double Vision sees an immersive live show from No Plexus and a new work by New Zealand-based sound artist mHz.

No Plexus has worked with renowned stage designer Emmanuel Biard (Evian Christ, Koreless, Lotic) to develop an immersive live show for their debut album, featuring holographic display systems, extensive light programming and live-video feeds. The combination of these elements creates an exciting dark atmosphere that sets the tone for the themes of the album. These themes artfully intertwine deep sarcasm and Y2K nostalgia, portraying a ‘coming-of-age’ narrative within a society teetering on the brink of climate catastrophe and war. Audiences can expect a truly epic sensorial assault of electronic sound, light and image.

mHz will premiere his brand-new work “Cruise Missile Intersectionality”. Building on his latest release “Proof Of Identity” (Important Records/Cassauna, 2023), he will mesh his usual abstract and stripped-down audiovisual language with less-than-subtle political commentary.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

No Plexus is a genre-queer experimental electronic music duo consisting of artists No Compliments and Bec Plexus. Their concept-driven approach to music is the result of both artists’ background in contemporary classical music fusing with a shared affinity for electronic music. Live sets from No Plexus combine raw and physical vocal performances, anchored by densely detailed drum programming and ever-evolving sound and visual design.

Mo H. Zareei aka mHz is an Iranian sound artist based in New Zealand. Using custom-built software and hardware, his experiments with sound cover a wide range from electronic compositions to kinetic sound-sculptures and audiovisual installations.
