ABOUT THE SHOW

Esther Freud, author of Hideous Kinky, has long drawn inspiration from her intellectual, bohemian pedigree in her vividly imagined and emotionally incisive novels.

As the great-granddaughter of psychologist Sigmund Freud, niece of politician and chef Sir Clement Raphael Freud, daughter of painter Lucian Freud, and sister of fashion designer Bella Freud (to name but a few of her familial connections), she has a lot of material to work with.

Freud’s latest work examines the bond of sisterhood, exploring with characteristic insight the unique intensity of devotion and rivalry, as her protagonists move from adolescence to adulthood.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
