ABOUT THE SHOW

Glynis Traill-Nash has long lived a double life: fashion writer by day, jazz singer by night. Now the two collide for the first time in this soirée of chic!

This fashion-fuelled cabaret will take you from Perth to Paris, catwalks to Crocs in witty and hilarious style. Glynis will answer your most pressing questions: What’s in? What’s out? Can I eat fries in that? Plus! Practical tips including how to (over)pack, when never to shop, and why you should always Think Pink!

With dapper musical director Josh Haines on piano, In These Shoes swans into Brisbane after wowing festival audiences across Australia and the Edinburgh Fringe. It’s time to put your best Louboutin forward because style is coming back in style!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Glynis Traill-Nash is one of Australia’s most respected and experienced fashion writers and commentators. She was the Fashion Editor of The Australian for 10 years, and has held similar roles at the Sunday Telegraph, In Style, Grazia and The Sun-Herald. She now contributes to multiple titles including Business of Fashion, Australian Financial Review, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and The Nightly. In 2023 she was a consultant for and appeared in the ABC TV documentary series The Way We Wore. In the same year she launched the podcast In Fashion, featuring guests including Trinny Woodall, Julie Bishop and Nicky Zimmermann. As a singer, she has performed in venues across Sydney, Perth and London and took her first one-woman jazz cabaret to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1998. She has studied with jazz luminaries Ian Shaw (London), Kerrie Biddell (Sydney) and Helen Matthews (Perth). While living in London in the 1990s, she also performed at Val Doonican’s 70th birthday party, which possibly pleased her parents more than any other achievements. Her debut album, After Blue, was released in 2003. All About Jazz described her voice as “somewhere between red wine and scotch”—two of her favourite tipples.
