ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jamila Rizvi is a broadcaster, public speaker, and social policy expert, best known for her bestselling books Not Just Lucky and The Motherhood. As Deputy Managing Director of Future Women, she champions women’s economic security and gender equity in Australian workplaces. Jamila has been recognized as one of Culture Amp’s 25 Emerging Global Culture Creators and included in the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence. At age 31, she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour, and now lives with complex disabilities due to acquired brain injury.
Rosie Waterland is an author, comedian, and podcaster, best known for her books The Anti Cool Girl and Every Lie I’ve Ever Told, both national bestsellers. She is also the host of the popular podcasts Mum Says My Memoir is a Lie and Just the Gist, which have garnered over 20 million downloads. A writer for various TV projects, Rosie has toured three one-woman shows nationally. She has spent much of her adult life managing the debilitating effects of trauma from her childhood experiences with abuse and neglect.
Both Jamila and Rosie bring their unique voices and insights to Broken Brains, a book that blends their personal struggles with physical and mental health, offering comfort and understanding to anyone who has faced illness or trauma.
