ABOUT THE SHOW
Side by Side with Sondheim is a celebration of the extraordinary work of Stephen Sondheim, showcasing the songs, stories and characters that made him a defining force in Musical Theatre.
Featuring a powerhouse cast of performers, including Australia’s very own Glinda, Courtney Monsma, as well as Sarah Morrison (Mamma Mia, Come From Away), James Shaw (Rent, The Secret Garden), Renae Suttie (The Swing Collective), Lachlan Greenland (Cirque Alice), Jordan Koulos (& Juliet, Grease), Erica Wild (Rocky Horror, Cinderella) – supported by a talented quartet, including Josh Whitten, Paige McKay, Liam J. O’Byrne & Laura Garrick – this original revue brings Sondheim’s iconic catalogue to life, featuring hits from Company, Into The Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, lesser known works and popular songs re-imagined in a new light. Fans of Steve will rediscover beloved favourites, while newcomers will experience the genius of Sondheim’s songwriting in a fresh and intimate way.
Whether you know every lyric by heart or are stepping into his world for the first time, Side by Side with Sondheim promises an evening of artistry, humour, and unforgettable music honouring one of theatre’s greatest writers.

A Night At The Musicals Inc. is an independent professional theatre company specialising in staged-concert musical theatre productions. Established in 2021 by Sophora Cliff, their programming spans a wide range of musical theatre material, including large-scale productions such as Disney in Concert, variety performances and themed cabaret. They’re also the creators of The Broadway Mixer, an initiative designed to connect emerging and established performers through a curated, performance-based industry platform.
Alongside their Brisbane seasons, A Night At The Musicals Inc. has recently extended their work across South East Queensland, touring productions to Caloundra, Ipswich, Bundaberg & Toowoomba.
With a growing annual program and presence in Brisbane, they continue to deliver events that support local artists and engage audiences with high-quality live performance.
