*WORLD PREMIERE

Tim Hecker is one of the most esteemed and provocative electronic producers of his generation.

Having toured with the likes of Sigur Ros and Godspeed You Black Emperor, Hecker has had developed a devoted following that includes icons such as Brian Eno and Aphex Twin. Tim Hecker’s groundbreaking contributions to the experimental and electronic music genres have become a blueprint for a generation of artists.

Joining Hecker is Loscil, the electronic/ambient music project of Vancouver-based Scott Morgan. Loscil’s music draws influence from architecture and natural forms and occupies a unique place in the realm of minimalism. Brisbane ensemble Topology collaborate on this piece and bring their signature vibrant sound to the premiere work, as they weave into Loscil’s pulsing ambient compositions.

Part of ΩHM 2024.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tim Hecker’s albums, such as Harmony in Ultraviolet, Love Streams and most recently No Highs, have received widespread praise for their dynamic and textured compositions. His immersive and atmospheric work has been described as “structured ambient”, “tectonic colour plates” and “cathedral electronic music”. Operating with an intensity shared by few others, his performances are recognised for their singular use of volume and sound pressure to saturate and heighten the experience.

Tim Hecker is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

"Tim Hecker Helped Popularize Ambient Music. He’s (Sort of) Sorry." - The New York Times
