Peckish? You will be! Creative culinary spectacular Night Feast returns to Brisbane Powerhouse this spring, serving up a delectable selection of flavours to savour from Brisbane’s leading chefs, top restaurants and eateries. Yes chef!
Devour the night from 16 October to 10 November 2024 as a vibrant feasting menu is paired with immersive art and music.
Set within the lush surrounds of Brisbane Powerhouse, Night Feast invites food and culture fans to dine under the stars by the Brisbane River. With dishes to delight the palate from 20 chefs and restaurants, the lineup features 14 Night Feast favourites alongside seven exciting new additions.
Crowd favourites returning in 2024 include, Donna Chang, Gerard’s, Southside, LouisB, Lek’s Thai, Ngon, NOTA, Anchalee’s, Hoy Pinoy, Wonderbao, La Mano, Bugster’s and Mary Mae’s, all offering their delicious signature dishes.
Adding extra seasoning to the symphony of flavours, Night Feast introduces the Mediterranean and Lebanese institution Byblos; Newstead neighbourhood laneway kitchen Allonda; the world-famous Gelato Messina serving a bespoke treat; the authentic Mexican eatery Cartel del Taco; a special collaboration between Diviners and Saville Row; the Latin-inspired Calida; and the new kid on the block, Central—the latest restaurant from the team behind Rick Shores and Southside.
Night Feast 2024 also welcomes the return of the stunning Sapporo Izakaya “stay-drink-place” in a new iteration, the Sapporo Izakaya x Boom Boom Room. Sapporo Ambassador and Beer Sensei Shinichiro Shimo will be presenting a selection of brews, expertly paired with a lavish menu from Japanese restaurant and bar, Boom Boom Room.
Night Feast is also a magnificent feast for the mind and soul. Complementing the extraordinary culinary lineup is a rich program of free art and music as well as the new city-wide Melt Festival of Queer Art and Culture from 23 October to 10 November.
Visitors to Brisbane Powerhouse will not be able to miss contemporary artist and designer Leeroy New’s monumental outdoor installation on the building’s façade, commissioned for Night Feast. The installation will be created from locally sourced recycled, re-purposed and waste materials.
Night Feast will also feature a commission from artist Dr Christian Thompson AO – a powerful large-scale photographic work mounted on the iconic brick exterior of the Brisbane Powerhouse building. This project is supported by Tim and Gina Fairfax.
Adding to the Night Feast ambience, the rhythmic beats of QUIVR DJs will keep the vibes high throughout the event.
Brisbane Powerhouse CEO and Artistic Director, Kate Gould, says Night Feast offers even more depth and exciting new layers this year with the addition of new restaurants and chefs, as well as Melt Festival, transforming both the event and the precinct.
“Night Feast showcases our culinary artists but is also a celebration of creativity in all its forms. With the addition of Melt Festival from 23 October, it will be an exhilarating month of festival activity in Brisbane.” she said.
The AMEX Garden Lounge returns in 2024, providing a serene and stylish oasis for visitors. American Express Vice President for Brand, Marketing and Member Experience, Naysla Edwards, says American Express is proud to join Brisbane Powerhouse to bring to life Night Feast in October.
“As presenting partner of Night Feast, we’re thrilled to be celebrating Brisbane’s extraordinary dining, arts and music culture at this incredibly unique event. We look forward to welcoming American Express Card Members and their guests to the American Express Garden Lounge to enjoy celebrating the festivities in style.”
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says Night Feast is just one of the many exciting events that bring more to see and do to our suburbs.
“Brisbane is Australia’s lifestyle capital and the Brisbane Powerhouse provides a great program of events year round for locals and visitors to enjoy,” Cr Schrinner said.
“Premiering in 2023, Night Feast was an incredible success as it burst onto Brisbane’s cultural scene, bringing a direct economic impact of more than $6.5 million.
