Located on Yagara Country, Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland’s home of contemporary culture and art. A magnificent 1920s power station reborn as an arts centre, each year it presents over 1,250 performances that engage over 1,200 artists.
But Brisbane Powerhouse can’t deliver its programs of rich diversity without your support.
Brisbane Powerhouse is actively fundraising to realise its ambition to be a national leader in arts, culture, education and social justice programs.
The Brisbane Powerhouse’s philosophy is that every gift should contribute to legacy programs that deliver ongoing results.
Donated funds are spent on innovative, sustainable programs that provide tangible outcomes. For example, Brisbane Powerhouse launched two new ongoing programs in 2022 – the Wandima Fellowship for graduate First Nations artists (Partner – QUT), and Flex – a program of accessibility attracting audiences of varying ability (Partner – Dalwood-Wylie Foundation).
We are currently focused on five target areas for investment and development outlined in further detail below.
If you want to know more about these programs or Brisbane Powerhouse’s vision more broadly, contact Ang Kirkland via email.

We acknowledge the Jagera/Turrbal peoples, the First Nation Traditional Owners of the land on which we gather. We pay respects to all Elders past and present and acknowledge the young leaders who are working beside our Elders in our cultural industries. We recognise all First Nation peoples as the original storytellers of these lands and acknowledge the important role they continue to play in our community.
