For over two decades, Robert Henke (Monolake) and Susanne Kirchmayr (Electric Indigo) have shaped electronic music culture in profound ways. Now they premiere newly developed performances as they embark on their first joint tour in the Southern Hemisphere.

Co-creator of the seminal music software Ableton Live, Henke has played a large role in redefining the performance practice of electronic music. His long-term project Monolake became one of the key icons of a new scene emerging in Berlin after the fall of the Wall. Regarded for his audiovisual and laser installations, Henke’s live performances compound the raw power of radical club culture with the richness of contemporary music.

Electric Indigo has rocked clubs and festivals in 45 countries for more than 30 years. Her career goes all the way back to the late ’80s in Vienna, since then she has built a formidable discography that spans and surpasses techno with ferocious dance floor 12-inches, conceptual sound installations and live compositions. Kirchmayr has been a force in dance music feminism since 1989 and is the founder of female:pressure, the transnational network for female, non-binary and transgender artists in electronic music.

Kirchmayr and Henke share a common interest in complex organised sound, large evolving structures and the exploration of space, timbre and dynamics. Don’t miss this dynamic double-bill direct from Berlin.
