Is Tough on Youth Justice the weak solution? – THU 10 jun, 6PM
turbine platform

There is a common perception that governments need to be tough on crime to keep our communities safe from young offenders. Many have implemented such policies but the issue is still with us. What could a more nuanced approach offer?

Do the alternatives to getting tough on crime come at too high a price?

Join us as we weigh up the balance between keeping our community members safe and offering our young people support to make better choices.

Come join our panel of experts for a lively conversation at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Thu 10 Jun, where audience members will have an opportunity to put their own questions to the panel. Tickets are free but limited.

$19.90 + $6.90 TRANSACTION FEE

Brisbane Comedy Festival special: A fresh take on the tough issues as two teams of festival favourites and local faces go head to head in The Debate – a good old-fashioned debate of ideas, sprinkled with a healthy serving of comedy silliness.

Hosted and moderated by (the immoderate) Natalie Bochenski (known for Act React’s Speed: The Movie, The Play and Convince Me), The Debate will see an affirmative team and a negative team fight it out in a quick-thinking battle, with a surprise topic to be announced in the lead up to the Brisbane Comedy Festival.

Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre.
