Come on a musical adventure with Alinta and her magical animal friends for a brand-new season of Powerkids: Little Artists at Play.

Effortlessly blending First Nation’s stories with funk, reggae and soul music, My Backyard introduces kids to a ragtag bunch of native Australian animal friends who have big personalities that little kids will love!

From Gaga Gecko, the dancehall master who likes to jam about self-love, to Lizzie the Water Dragon, a funky reptile who likes her space, there’s so many new friends to meet. You’ll even get to meet Alinta’s animal totem, Sissy Water Hen and learn about why she’s so special to her.

Is your little artist a bit shy? Take a seat under the shady Poinciana tree and watch the action from the special chillout zone (So, they can still play, without feeling too overwhelmed by all their new magical friends.)

Come on over, we can’t wait for you to come and play in My Backyard.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Alinta has been a freelance performing artist for the last 7 Years with her roots planted in Brisbane. Her particular brand of music and storytelling has made her a regular fixture at Woodford folk festival, Yonder, Qaundamooka festival, Anywhere Theatre Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Clancestry, Meeanjin Markets and more.

Along with 3 regional tours she has also toured nationally and internationally with Australian singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd & The United Nations and celebrated artists like Blue King Brown.

Since co-writing children’s music show  “Have You Ever Heard a Wombat Sing?” with Waveney Yasso and Sue Rider, Alinta was inspired to share her love and knowledge of Australian animals with others (including her own Little Artist at Play).
